HOW WE DO IT
Como con ECO is a project that leads actions so that students and professors from schools and universities in Colombia acquire tools as agents of change on issues related to climate action and food resilience.
Our work takes place in the cities of Bogotá and Manizales where we will carry out activities including:
This initiative will last (3) three years ending in 2024 and is led by Ean University and 2811. Likewise, we have an alliance that includes public and private institutions so that we can establish sustainable behaviors generating greater well-being for people and the planet.
The global food system is one of the largest emitters of greenhouse gases in the world resulting in the development of threats that increase deforestation, loss of biodiversity, land and water pollution and human heath problems among others.
We promote education on issues and solutions related to the climate crisis associated to industrial food production
and consumption, the importance of consolidating regenerative practices and incorporating healthy eating habits in our lifestyle.
This becomes increasingly necessary in a context in which our environmental, economic and social reality exacerbates the need to generate systemic changes and migrate towards more resilient food systems.
We have a systemic approach to face the challenges associated with the changes that can be generated from educational institutions through the installation of capacities, skills and competencies in the young people of Manizales and Bogotá.
The above, identifying the teachers as facilitators that allow transferring this knowledge to the young people of the benefited educational institutions. Thus, students will be trained with methodologies and technologies that allow them to generate awareness of the challenges and solutions related to climate action in food systems.
We will center on the application of emerging technologies to the challenges that we propose to face by carrying out various activities and products that strengthen the generation of knowledge to deal with associated issues.
We will implement as a central working method, the creation of living laboratories in 10 schools. This with an experiential learning model, based on challenges and developed in an interdisciplinary way.
